Knowing Hartlepool has a rich culture of songs and stories, it was decided that Digital Hartlepool wouldn't merely reflect this by printing lyrics and words, but that to better preserve and capture this oral tradition, sound recordings would be made and placed on the site for download.

As such, this section of the site requires contributions from local singers, folk groups and storytellers, who both know and can express Hartlepool's history and culture through the popular songs and tales that have been performed and told down the years.

A fee will be paid to any contributors, though you must be able and willing to come into Hartlepool College of Further Education for the purposes of recording. Contact us via the link at right.
